Welcome to Advent

Anticipating Jesus’ return

As we enter into the Advent season, we are looking forward to His return.

We need to always remember that as God is holy, He calls His people to be holy. As God is unlike any other gods, so His people are unlike any other people, which means how we think about our lives and conduct it, is very different than the way of this world. How we spend our time, money, and attention is no longer spent on ourselves, but we are called to spend ourselves on behalf of others; the weak, the poor, and the marginalized.

In Luke 12:35, Jesus commands us to be dressed and ready for service and to have our lamps burning. As new creation, our lives are no longer about feeding and clothing ourselves, but to feed and clothes people that can’t do that for themselves.

As we look forward to the fullness of the fulfillment of His promises, let us be ready and be found doing what He has commanded us to do. This Christmas season, we have partnered with Compassion Canada to practically live out our faith in Jesus.
